We’ve received great news from Meloy Architects. Their Hill House Project has now been officially certified as a Passivhaus; the first in the South Downs National Park. We collaborated closely with Charles Meloy on the house, which has been designed for his family on a site overlooking the Downs above Lewes.
As well as providing advice on the design and construction methodology we also completed the full Passivhaus Planning Package assessment. All critical construction junctions were thermally modelled to ensure there were no ‘cold bridges’; areas where heat could be transferred from the heated interior to the colder exterior.
The certification process was carried out by Kym Mead at MEAD Ltd. Services design and consultancy was provided by Alan Clarke.
