Finishing Touches

Works are almost complete on our extension to a Grade II listed Manor House in Cambridgeshire so we visited the site for a catch-up. The sliding doors are finally in place and have transformed the new space into a bright and airy dining space suitable for a modern day family. In summer these doors will slide back and truly open the house to its extensive gardens for the first time in its 250 year history. The roof will then cantilever dramatically above the slender glazing thanks to the structural engineering wizardry of Rodrigues Associates.
The re-planned kitchen has now become much more central to the main family spaces, linking the existing sitting room to the newly created dining room. By raising the floor level in what had been the original dining room we were able to create a seamless flow between these new spaces.
Some external works still need to be completed, including a renovation of the garden, but once they are we will be back to take more photographs as soon as they are.
